Trench Canteen

This is a World War II German Field Bottle M31. It features a felt cover, a metal cup, bound by and a leather strap with a metal hook for attaching it to metal rings on the soldier's belt. The black-painted cups were ordered to be painted Olive Green in April 1941, but some remained black until the end of the war.
